Karl Klomp studeerde af met een collectie gemodificeerde video tools die hij tegen elk aannemelijk bod presenteert op internet. Karl haalt tweedehands video apparatuur open om nieuwe connecties te kunnen leggen binnen bestaande circuits. De fouten en imperfecties die gewoonlijk door technologie wordt weggewerkt krijgen in zijn "tools" de hoofdrol. Zijn gemodificeerde videotools presenteert hij op www.glitchism.org. Hij presenteerde deze website als volgt:

Graag zou ik u aandacht willen vragen voor mijn presentatie van
gemodificeerde video tools op glitchism.org. Daar presenteer ik mijn
tools die ik de afgelopen twee jaar heb gemodificeerd, verbetert,
ge?xploiteerd, vernederd, gebruikt en gekoesterd. Deze biedt ik aan op
ebay.com. Via glitchism.org vind u informatie, demo films en de link
naar ebay. Ook vind u een bescheiden concept van mij en het gebruik van
tools op de website.
Door de tools wederom op tweedehands sites zoals www.ebay.com aan te bieden, ontstaat er een circulatie.
Karl presenteert samen met Tom Verbruggen audiovisuele improvisaties onder de naam Live Cinema Performance: mnk_toktek.
Karl Klomp graduated with a collection modified video tools which he presented on internet on any acceptable bid. He deconstructs second hand video apparatus to make new connections within existing circuits. The technical mistakes and imperfections which normally are ironed out, play a principal part in his 'tools'. He presents and explains his work on his website www.glitchism.org. By presenting these tools on second hand sites like www.ebay.com, a circulation starts.
Together with musician Tom Verbruggen, Karl Klomp performs audio visual improvisations under the name mnk_toktek,
mnk_toktek, Live Cinema Performance
A live audiovisual improvisation by Karl Klomp (vj mnk) and Tom Verbruggen (Toktek). There research in live cinema deals with illogic audio / video hardware (circuit bending) in combination with max / atmel / Lisa programming and interfacing. Visual artist / musician Tom Verbruggen structures unbridle clicks and cuts of his circuit bent gadgets and melodramatic tunes into a fragile disturbance. Sampling with a joystick Tom creates unlogic contrasts that will feed the video hardware of Karl Klomp. Modified secondhand (obsolete) hardware is tuned to create and interfere video the way he wants. With minimal animations and 'ODS glitch' as video input the signal gets carefully disturb into a hyper dynamic oasis of disorder, all preformed very live.
