Exchange
The FMI has developed an intensive co-operative exchange with the Master of Fine Arts program at the Hunter College of the City University in New York. In addition, a co-operative relationship between the Frank Mohr Instituut and the School of Design of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia has existed since 2007. For the MFA Painting program, these co-operative ventures consist of an exchange of students and tutors, joint projects, and an exchange of knowledge. A number of students of MFA Painting can, on request and if their work provides sufficient reason for this, go to New York or Pennsylvania for one or more months to participate in the study programmes there.
In addition, MFA Painting receives one or more exchange students from both of these universities and these follow the studio program of the MFA Painting program for several months.

My Dutch Family Reunion - Changha Whong, May 2001

"It was very second day at Frank Mohr Institute when I witnessed students here were taking shower at school. I thought it was really weird to see a shower room at an art school but then again I was, after all, in the North of Holland where anything is possible."
Time in Groningen - Emily Miranda, June/July 2001
"When I first arrived in Groningen and people found out I was from New York, they would look at me as if I were crazy- why leave there and come here?"
