MFA IME has an electronics lab with up to date knowledge on building complex interfacing, robotics and sensing projects. Students are encouraged to explore off-screen computing solutions in their work.
For advanced rendering and visualization capabilities students can make use of the facilities of the HPC&V center at the university campus.
Software
As a course focused on emerging media, IME follows the Open Source software community with high interest and tries to apply as many of it?s products and it?s mode of operation to the practice of new media artists. Traditional ?art? related software from houses like Adobe and Macromedia are offered in a limited way at some shared machines in the lab.
